The New Windsor Fair and Rodeo Queen Contest

 

  The queen contest is held Saturday August 14, 2010.  The contest is held at The Big Red Barn (North of New Windsor) following the Princess Contest.  Admission is a small $3.00 donation at the door.    

    The contest is open to young women age 14 to 19 by July 1, 2010 to compete.  The girls must have a New Windsor mailing address, or phone number, or be actively affiliated with either the Presbyterian, or Lutheran churches in the community, or be members to the New Windsor 4-H drill team.  The contest is judged on the following: Talent, Formal wear, Prepared speech, and Interview competitions.  The queen and her court reign over the fair and rodeo.  They are present at all events, presenting awards at the different fair and rodeo competitions.

 

    In conjunction with the queen contest there is a "Little Princess Contest".  It is held on August 14 at The Big Red Barn, starting at 6:30 PM.  The girls must be 6 - 8 years old by July 1, 2010 to compete.  The contestant must be an active member of one of the New Windsor Churches or have a New Windsor mailing address or phone number. The Little Princess's duties are similar to those of the Queen.
